Flowbird has been a long standing partner with NYCDOT since 1993 when the City was one of the first in the United States to implement On-Street multi-space parking pay stations.

At the end of 2021, Flowbird won the biggest mobile call for tenders of the world. Flowbird succeeded in beating brands established as leaders in this sector.

On October 17th, 2022 , Flowbird Group and NYCDOT launched the ParkNYC app in New York City to serve nearly 2 million users.

PROJECT GOALS

Enable users to pay as they go seamlessly without the need to pre-load a digital wallet

THE SOLUTION

The new ParkNYC app, implemented by New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) and operated by Flowbird, allows motorists to conveniently pay for on-street parking and municipal parking lots using a mobile device.

Flowbird designed a modern and user-friendly interface, featuring the ability to pay as you go for a parking session and the continued ability to pre-load a ParkNYC wallet.

Accounts can be set up for individual motorists or for businesses to manage their fleets. An automatic migration of the residents’ accounts already registered in the old app to the new app has been performed.

The new app extends service to the tens of thousands of parking locations across the five boroughs. The validity of the electronic ticket is checked online by the enforcement agent.

The back office allows the city access to immediate in-depth reporting of all meters and mobile transactions, making it easier to manage the parking system in real time, while making data-driven decisions for the future.
